[project]
The brief consisted of designing a title sequence for an existing film. Tangled was selected for its rich visual universe, fantastical narrative, and the graphic potential of its symbolic elements.
The project aimed to build a visual identity consistent with the film's imagery, combining illustration, fluid transitions, and animated compositions to create an engaging audiovisual experience.
[goal]
To develop a motion graphics piece capable of translating the film's narrative universe into an animated visual system while exploring composition, timing, transitions, and art direction.
The project also sought to understand motion not merely as a visual effect, but as a narrative tool capable of generating rhythm, tension, and continuity throughout an audiovisual sequence.
[camera movement]
Subtle and continuous camera movements connect each scene throughout the sequence. Through gentle zoom-ins and progressive transitions, viewers are gradually introduced to different narrative moments while maintaining a sense of immersion.
[lighthing]
To reinforce the magical atmosphere of Tangled, lighting effects were applied to emphasize elements associated with light within the story.
The use of Deep Glow generated luminous halos around the lanterns and enhanced the characteristic glow of Rapunzel's hair, adding visual richness and atmospheric depth.
[squash and stretch]
During Pascal's animation, the classical animation principle of Squash and Stretch was applied. This technique was used during moments of jumping and surprise, temporarily altering the character's proportions to convey weight, elasticity, and expressiveness.
[color transformation]
As the final transition of the piece, a color transformation was developed for Pascal through the use of color effects and adjustments.
This transformation references one of the character's distinctive traits within the film while functioning as a visual device that introduces variation and reinforces the playful nature of the animation.
"An exploration of how motion can enhance the meaning of an image."
